This cold water fiber reactive dye is known the world over. The undisputed king of tie dye, Procion MX is also one of the most versatile dyes available. Use it for hand-painting yarns and fibers, immersion dyeing, tie dye, batik, airbrush, garment dyeing, screen printing, spatter painting, gradation dyeing and more!
This cold water concentrated dye, which you add to tap water, is the most vivid of all dyes for cellulose fibers.
You can easily create a palette of colors ranging from light pastels to deep, vibrant hues. Typically, one 2/3 oz. bottle will dye more than 1 pound of fabric and several pounds of top or yarn - very bright colors will require more dye, pastel colors will require less.
Procion MX fiber reactive dye will dye all cellulose (plant) fibers and most protein (animal) fibers--using an acid. Common cellulose fibers are cotton, linen, jute, ramie, sisal, and rayon. For best results on protein fibers we recommend using Jacquard Acid Dyes.
**You will need Soda Ash to set these dyes. Soda Ash can be found locally and is very inexpensive. You can find it at pool and plumbing supply stores, feed stores and on the laundry aisle of your grocery store marked as Washing Soda.**
You will get the following colors, one jar of each:

Squeeze excess water out of fabric, lay flat to dye, and apply dye using squeeze bottles (1 to 2 teaspoon of dye to 1/2 cup of water). After dyeing, wrap in plastic and let sit for several days. Rinse well and hang to dry.
