Sometimes, the best of intentions don’t always produce the intended results. Thus it is with my “leaves” yarns. There are several of them: Doug Fir, Spring Leaves, and Summer Leaves 1 & 2. Initially, they were all intended for one large “lot” of yarn. Same material, same source, same dyes, but somehow, they came out to be different yarns. Spinning, for me, can be influenced by many things: the ambient or musical sounds around me, the weather, what’s on my mind, the number of interruptions I sustain, whether I’m spinning in the morning or evening. So, each of my original “leaf” yarns is a little different: in color, in weight, in tightness of spin, hence the various listings.

This yarn is a variety of greens, from deep forest to lime green, all giving the impression of light dancing through the tops of trees. It’s a little lighter than Doug Fir and a little darker than Spring Leaves and a little heavier than Summer Leaves.

This listing is for one 2-ply skein, with a weight of 3.5 ounces, spun at an average of 118 ypp (yards per pound), a Fine Sport yarn. The total yardage is approximately 440 yards. See my Store Policy FAQs section for further knitting gauge suggestions for various yard weights, a bit about sheep breeds and yarn softness and care instructions for different fibers.

My skeins are wound on a full 2-yard niddy-noddy. If you don’t have a large swift, let me know. Spun in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home.
