I get asked all the time how to make crankies. This is a fun craft project (*see note for children below) you can do on your own or with family/friends, that will give you an intro into making crankies at a simple level. Also this is a fun project that wont take as long as making a full size crankie!
The "Make your own matchbox crankie kit" comes with:
2 match sticks, matchbox, a pre-made scroll (you can draw your own if you prefer), instructions, and a proscenium you can cut out and color yourself (the front stage frame).
Once you have this kit, you can continue to make your own matchbox crankies with any found matchboxes and if you mess up, all materials are easily procured!

*If a child is making it, they may need help. this project involves using an exacto knife. It also involves a certain amount of dexterity, however they can enjoy coloring while you are working on the cutting!
