Approximately six feet of garland made from the pages of a 1948 pulp paperback copy of The Great Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe. I made the strand from six one-inch, triangular pennants, alternating with five larger, two-inch pennants. The larger pennants are stamped front-and-back with a unique, hand-carved raven stamp.

Although I show this garland strung outside, I don’t recommend using it as an outdoor decoration unless you’re sure the weather will be pleasant and dry. I’ve reinforced the brittle, sixty-year-old text with a backing of fresh drawing paper, but it’s still paper and won’t react well to water or rough handling.
