THE STORY: Dreams of a Dragon: She patiently waits. The time has come and soon, so very soon she will no longer be alone. In her claws she gently cradles not only her future but the future of her kind. An egg. A precious eggs is all that stands between her kind and extinction. She dreams of one day soaring through the skies with her new little one. She waits. Soon, so very soon....

HOW'S IT MADE: Raspberry Ruadh (which means red in Gaelic) is made from a technique called needle felting, which involves poking and prodding different colours of wool with an extremely sharp barbed needle until you reach the perfect shape. It literally takes thousands of pokes and days and days to create a sculpture of this kind. Raspberry Ruadh has wire in her legs and tail making her free standing. She is made from the softest merino roving and is so soft to touch. Excessive handling will lead to an over all fuzziness but in my opinion only adds to his beauty. Her little egg is detachable and can be held between her paws (do dragons have paws?) or set beside her. This is a-one-of-a-kind soft sculpture.

MEASUREMENTS: Even though Raspberry Ruadh hardly weighs a thing she is approx. 22 cm (9 inches) tall. She is really cute to look at and comes from a smoke free home but is not a children's toy.

COLOURS: Raspberry Ruadh is a combination of many shades of raspberry red. All the different shades of colours are hard to photograph but she is truly a very pretty raspberry or burgundy red. Her underbelly, horns and wing "bones" are a combination of brushed burgundy and golden beige. Her little claws at the ends of her toes are golden beige. Her egg is a combination of different shades of grey with slight brown undertone.

***Remember different monitors may show colours slightly different then they actually are, but trust me, I've worked very hard in picking out just the right colours to bring this sculpture to life!

Listing is for Raspberry Ruadh the dragon and her egg.
