Sewing Survival Machine Embroidery Patch: "I Sew. I'm Ready" (Design Download)

The Sew4Home Sewing is a Real Life Survival Skill patch is a machine embroidery design. It is delivered as a PDF download, which includes an overview of stitching instructions, a supply list, and a stitch chart. It does not include materials. Within the PDF will be a link that will take you to a special hidden page on Sew4Home.com from which you can download the custom embroidery files in any of the seven main home embroidery formats: ART, EXP, JEF, JPX, PES, VIP, AND VP3. Instructions are in English. We do not offer translation services at this time.

On the Sew4Home.com website, we have a series that shouts out how, “Sewing is a Real Life Survival Skill!” It’s true, and in partnership with our friends at Janome, we turned our series emblem into a cool machine embroidery patch.

What is the series about? The Great Depression taught an entire generation how to make do with what they had. Perhaps you, your parents or your grandparents experienced it, or maybe you’ve only heard about it in documentaries or read about it in school history books. It was a time when it was necessary to know how to create things for yourself: to cook from scratch, repair rather than buy new, grow your own food, and - yes – to sew! These are real life survival skills. Unfortunately, even with the rise in popularity of the reuse-and-recycle movement, we’ve lost touch with many of these skills. Now is the time to remember, to re-learn, to reach out and teach others. Our area of expertise is sewing; maybe it’s yours as well! If so, we invite you to rekindle sewing as a real life survival skill.

Our custom patch is emblazoned with the Sewing - A Real Life Survival Skill logo at the top, and at the bottom, a phrase that heralds YOU as a Maker with the slogan: “I Sew. I’m Ready.”

The finished patch size is approximately 3½” in diameter. Resizing or editing of the design is not recommended and we can not guarantee the quality of the design if you alter it in any way.

The patch stitches out to be very stable yet it is still flexible enough to apply to a variety of surfaces and projects. Add one to a jacket, backpack, tote, sewing machine cover, caddy organizer, anywhere you want to show your sewing pride! A Sewing Survival patch would be a great gift for your sewing pals!

DOWNLOADING INFORMATION

IF YOU HAVE AN ETSY ACCOUNT: To access your digital files, sign in to etsy.com and go to Your account. Next, go to Purchases and Reviews. Then, next to the order, select Download Files. This goes to the Downloads page for all the files attached to your order.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ETSY ACCOUNT: Within about five minutes of purchase Etsy will send an email TO YOUR ETSY EMAIL ADDRESS. The email’s subject line will say: SEW4HOMESHOP DOWNLOAD IS READY and will contain a link for you to download and save the PDF files on your computer.

THIS EMAIL IS ONLY SENT ONCE FROM ETSY – BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND REMEMBER TO MAKE A NOTE OF WHERE ON THE COMPUTER YOU’VE DOWNLOADED YOUR FILE(S).

PRINTING INFORMATION

ONE PDF FILE IS PROVIDED WITH PURCHASE. IT CAN BE PRINTED ON EITHER US LETTER PAPER OR A4 PAPER, USING ADOBE ACROBAT READER. THE PDF IS FOUR PAGES AND CAN BE PRINTED IN FULL COLOR OR BLACK AND WHITE USING THE PRINTER CONTROLS FOR YOUR COMPUTER.
