Purportedly between 1949 and 1950 Simplicity produced this line of higher styled patterns in oversized envelopes (8" X 11") that were to rival Vogue.

"MISSES' 1-PIECE DRESS AND COAT: Softness at the neck styles the dress which features a pleat at center front, flap pockets and contrast collar and cuffs. Bothe dress and coat are fashioned with kimono sleeves. The coat has bound pockets."

Note: Well tailored clothes required bound buttonholes and the fashion illustrator made them obvious when drawing for this envelope.
