This little plate is hand built from a hand rolled slab of speckled brown stoneware clay and stamped with a plastic patterning sheet. I must admit when I first tried it on the pumpkin shape I was only looking for a fun pattern to play up the glaze, but after I stamped it the pattern looked like a spider web! What could be more perfect?! Just don't look for spiders anywhere in my shop - I have a spider phobia!

The plate is glazed in a yummy shino glaze which is a rich shiny brown on the surface of the stamped areas and a creamy color where it pools in the recesses. It is unglazed on the underside but is smooth. I do the final roll of the underside on a smooth piece of muslin so the final fired surface is not rough.

The plate is 5 1/2 inches wide, 4 3/4 inches from stem to base and about 1/2 inch tall. It has many uses: soap dish, candle dish, trinket dish and because the glaze is food safe it can be a fun snack or cookie plate. Just imagine one of those amazing frosted cookies (orange icing of course) on this little plate! Ooh, or a cupcake with chocolate icing!

I also have some mini pumpkin trinket dishes in my shop:
