This mantel was reclaimed from a horse barn in Lexington Kentucky built 1827. The original Poplar timber was hand hewn with an ax by pioneer frontiersmen. It measures 5" thick, 10.5" wide, and 70.5" long.

This fireplace mantel has been thoroughly cleaned and kiln dried so its bug free (and doesn't smell like a horse barn). After kiln drying it was sanded down by hand and finished with 1 coat of Minwax wood conditioner and 4 coats of Minwax clear satin.

Enjoy your 1800's fireplace mantel for years to come, and also help save our environment.
