This brass brooch is from the Art Nouveau period with a woman's head and either a tulip flower or possibly a torch. Her hair is blowing back and some of the strands are covered in tiny rhinestones. One of the popular styles of this period was the female form - in a pre-Raphaelite pose with long, flowing hair. On two of the strands are what look to be clear cut glass rounds. They appear black because the piece needs cleaning. I will leave that up to you as many prefer the original patina not be disturbed.

The brooch has an area on the back that looks like something may have been attached at one time and possibly turned into a brooch, but I don't know that for sure. There is also an H7 (the seven written in European style) scratched into the surface on the back.

This brooch belonged to my husband's Great Aunt's jewelry collection. It measures 7/8" x 1". It is in very excellent condition with normal wear and patina for the age.
