Hundreds of end-cut basswood, birch, and walnut branches cover a pine picture frame base. Each branch has been selected for size, cut by hand, and sanded by hand before being glued to the base. They range in size from 1 1/2 inches all the way down to 1/16 of an inch in diameter. One of the frequent mid-western thunderstorms provided the branches used to create this piece.
The outside dimensions of the frame are 9x11 inches and it holds a 5x7 photo or print. The design of the frame allows it to stand as an easel or hang on the wall either vertically or horizontally. All wood surfaces are protected and enhanced by two coats of satin polyurethane.
