I originally made this simple little tool for myself, to help me spin the yarn
weight or thickness of singles I want, and to be able to spin that weight

There are three heavyweight business-sized cards, professionally printed and lightly laminated by the printer, in this set:

1 - The first card shows the width and WPI of singles that fall around the middle of
each of the yarn weights. I also use this card to identify mystery yarn from my

2 - The second card shows the width and WPI of the single I need to spin to make a
2-ply yarn of the desired yarn weight.

3 - The third card likewise shows the width of the singles needed for a 3-ply yarn
of the desired weight.

The front of the cards also has a quick wraps-per-inch (WPI) gauge and WPI ranges for
the common knitterly yarn ranges. The the colored column on the front of each card gives an inch for quick WPI measurement, and the wpi range for each yarn weight is given in the following way in the column as well:

Smallest WPI - WPI of stripe on the card - Largest WPI

On the reverse I have summarized, for each yarn weight, the following information from my yarn information table in the In my Yarn Theory Card (
YPP range - a range of yard per pound measurements for the yarn weight
N/m range - a range of meter per gram measurements for the yarn weights
Woolen Ply/Count - a range of measures for the yarn weight,
Stockinette needle size - a typical range of needle sizes where appropriate,
as well as a quick-and-rough needle gauge for each range.

listing for you :)

I have changed my shipping to a service that couriers my packages to London, and mails it there as standard UK mail. I'm unfortunately not able to track these parcels, but have much higher confidence in them arriving than the service our post office currently gives for registered mail. Orders should typically take 2-3 weeks days to reach you, but may be delayed and take up to 6 weeks. I currently ship orders once a week, unless we have a separate arrangement :)

In the event that the shipping charged exceeds my postage costs by more than $1, I will refund the difference via Paypal.
