This canvas print is of a 1 Kran Persian postage stamp from 1894. The stamp features a portrait of Shah Nasser-eddin framed in yellow and red graphic ornament and arabic writing. A black cancellation mark from Tehran is in the upper left hand corner.

The face of this canvas measures 9.5 x 7.5 inches (24.1 x 19.1 cm). It is a sample from a series of 20 pieces in this size. Larger sizes are available. If you don't see any among my other Etsy listings please inquire.

I wanted to enjoy stamp artwork without a magnifying glass, without trapping these great little pieces of art in rarely seen binders. I started to blow them up and thought of Past Postage. Vintage postage stamps, meticulously scanned, cleaned, enlarged and printed on a premium archival canvas using professional equipment. The canvas is given a protective UV coating and stretched and stapled over handmade wooden frames of kiln dried poplar. Smaller pieces like this one are stretched over a half inch thick piece of high quality birch ply. All artwork comes securely packaged and ready to hang.

Thank you.
