This is a sweet set of vintage bottles with a sea biscuit and coral. These would be beautiful in your coastal home or beach house along side your seashell collection.

The tallest bottle is a vintage Heinz ketchup bottle. It probably dates in the early 1900s before screw on tops came about. It is embossed on both sides. One side: H. J. Heinz Co. The other side: Pittsburgh, P.A. This is a very nice bottle with a little bit of clouding. I've added crystal white sand on the inside and a big beautiful sea biscuit on the top. The bottle is edged with silver leaf paint and trimmed with jute that I have hand dyed seashell pink.

The smaller white bottle is a vintage milk glass jar. This jar contained cosmetic cream marketed by Harriet Hubbard Ayer. Harriet Hubbard Ayer never marketed a perfume. She build a successful, albeit short lived, business marketing cosmetic creams. The name of her business was Recamier Manufacturing Company. The name was that of a French beauty of the Napoleonic era. In Paris, Ayer had obtained a formula for a beauty cream said to have been specially prepared for this lady. Under Ayer's skillful management, it became her highly profitable Luxuria cream. Only after the death of Harriet Hubbard Ayer was the company that still bears her name organized. This company, which still exists, has sold both a range of beauty products and perfume. Read more here:

The bottle is embossed on the front with: HARRIET HUBBARD AYER / NEW YORK, NY / USA. To the top of this bottle I have added a large piece of rock coral. I love the white on white and then the contrasting seashell pink hand dyed jute.

These bottles make a beautiful set and would compliment any coastal home or shabby chic cottage.
