Flisby, realistic crochet kingfisher amigurumi pattern

With this clear written pattern, you can make a super cute and realistic-looking crochet kingfisher. This .pdf crochet pattern is written in standard American crochet terms.

Despite the many colour changes for the head, this isn’t a very difficult pattern to crochet, as long as you follow the instructions to the letter and untangle your skeins after every round. The spots on the head and wings are easy enough to embroider because of the way they are placed. Assembling the animal and getting all the pieces in the right place will require some skill, but I guide you with the text and images in the pattern. As long as you take your time, you can make yourself a gorgeous little bird, I’m sure!

Size of finished doll: If you use the recommended yarn, your kingfisher will be 4.3 inch / 11 cm tall.

Materials
For this crochet kingfisher you’ll need worsted weight yarn (Lètt Lopi) and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You also need a D US/3 mm crochet hook for the feet. You’ll need five colours of yarn: lagoon heather (9423), apricot (1704) and glacier blue heather (1404); for these you only need about 1/4 of a 100 yarn skein each. You need left-over bits of white (0051) and sheep black (0052) or another black. For the eyes I’ve used 10 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads).
