The pictured rings were made using Purpleheart wood. This listing is for two similar rings custom made to your sizes. (The pictured ring is not the actual ring you will receive.) It was made using the "bent wood method" for durability. If you would like a similar wood ring in a different size or width, please contact me to discuss a custom men’s or women’s wooden wedding band or ring order.
For those who are not familiar with wooden rings, it is helpful to understand that there are two general methods for making them. I will call them the “block method” and the “bent wood method.” The “block method” involves layering the different woods into a little block. Then, the hole is drilled out and the wooden ring is shaped from that. This is a fairly quick way of making wood rings, so I can do it relatively inexpensively. If done properly, it still makes for a nice wooden ring.

The “bent wood method” involves taking thin strips of the main wood and heat/steam bending the wood into circles. These are then layered onto themselves and the wooden ring can be shaped from that. If you would like a stone or second wood inlayed into your wooden ring, a groove can be cut around the ring and other woods or crushed stone can be inlaid. This is a much more tedious process and is a bit more expensive. However, because the grain of the wood runs all the way around the ring, this method produces a much stronger wooden wedding band or ring.

If you are on a tight budget and aren’t planning on wearing your wooden ring every day, the “block method” may be the best choice for you. But if this is going to be your wedding band and are planning on wearing it constantly, or if the cost isn’t an issue for you, I recommend the “bent wood method.” The added quality of the wooden ring is worth the extra cost.

If you see a ring of mine that was made using the “block method” and would like a similar ring in the “bent wood method” (or vice versa), let me know and I will provide a listing for you to purchase.

When shopping for a men’s or women’s wooden ring and aren’t sure which method was used, ask the seller so that you know what you are getting. This specific listing is for a "bent wood" ring.
In order to protect the wood and insure a long life for the ring, I finish each of my wooden rings with multiple coats of a Cyanoacrylate finish (basically a highly refined superglue). After testing many different finishes, this is what I’ve found to be the most durable and longest lasting. I am happy to use a different finish upon request for your wooden ring. If at any time, the finish on your wooden wedding band or ring becomes damaged, simply return the wood ring to me and I will refinish it for $4 (to cover the cost of shipping back to you).
US ring sizes typically range from 1-15. If you don’t know your size, it is recommended that you visit any jewelry store before ordering to get professionally sized. There are other methods of measuring available, but I have often found them to be inaccurate. Since wooden rings cannot be resized, it is important to get an accurate measurement. Keep in mind that I can make wood rings in ¼ and ½ sizes, as well.
If you would like to speak with me before ordering your wooden wedding band or ring, please send me a message here on Etsy or email me at MnMWoodworks [!at] gmail.com. I am always happy to customize my wooden rings for you, using different woods or stones of your choice.
My wooden rings are carefully crafted and take a considerable amount of time to make. Please allow one to two weeks for me to get your wood ring made and finished before shipping it out.
Each ring is made using materials in their natural state. I use no dyes, stains, or other colorings. The colors you see in my rings are the colors that are found in nature and will often vary somewhat from ring to ring.
