A charming Holdfast Pottery Baby Plate made sometime around 1892 to 1910, patented D. E. McNicol, East Liverpool Ohio. Very, very heavy, no-tip, baby plate, 8" across, 1 3/4" high, 3/4" wide rim. The graphics on the inside are in good condition with a little bit of scratching & a small amount of the bottom of the verse missing but still very readable. "Baby Bunting and little dog Bunch go ahunting and take their lunch". The picture is of Baby Bunting in a blue striped dress & her brown & white dog "Bunch", walking down the road with a rifle (!!) and a baby bottle (dog has a bone in his mouth). It also has a smaller dog with a bone in the upper Left. Gold filligree decorations around the rim in good shape, some wear (after all, it is 100 years old!!). Some crazing on the inside & yellowed from age. It has some chips in the bottom rim & 1 small crack in the top at about 7:00. Overall in good shape & so, so cute!
