This is the oldest lock I've ever seen. It was not made by a machine.
It appears to have been made, in haste by hand by either a black smith or a farmer who needed to lock something up in a hurry.
Probably that lamb over in my Toy department!

It's really cool the longest part of the hook is "twisted" so it has ridges, the hook is simply pounded into a 90 degree turn and sharpened at the end. It would fit in any loop-fashioned metal eye piece.
This would look really great as rustic lock for your bathroom door don't ya think?

Ancient Door Lock, awesomely HAND FASHIONED
