The Oceanography of Her is a tribute to the seductive lure of the ocean and a love song to the sirens that linger in our subconscious. In a collection of 30 poems, it evokes the tumultuous passion of a storm at sea, and the calm of a morning dew. It explores themes of love and the beauty of nature; bisexuality, friendship, independence, and heartbreak; and the undercurrent though it all: the healing power of water.
Sarah Herrin is a queer poet currently based in Colorado. She achieved a BFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she studied Sequential Art and Creative Writing. Her work is inspired by world travel, the beauty of nature, and above all – love. She is a gemologist, runner, and Bowie lover.

My favorite kind of media is that which allows or invites me to emote, and I have found so many from this collection that do just that. Sarah’s words are emotive and connecting and many poems in this book have nurtured my spirit.
