I stitched this on 32 count fabric so it measures just about 1-1/4" square including the frame (a purchased cast metal frame that I painted with gold paint). So it's obviously fine for one inch scale but would also be all right for 1/2" scale. The first picture shows it with 1" scale items (not for sale) and the second picture shows it over the mantle of my half inch scale house. The colors are truest in the third picture.

This picture reminds me so much of when my mom took my sister and I out west and we saw the Grand Tetons and the Rockies. To make the water look as much like water as possible, I used a shimmery blending filament with the blue thread and when you move it you can see it glimmer a little - not that anyone in your dollhouse will be moving it! :)
