Delicate red kimono silk embroidered with roses and vines create the bed for a large red poppy handmade using the same silk with a gold embroidered white silk underside. Black velvet rose leaves adorn the back of the hat where a small red Japanese Daruma is hiding for good luck.
Old school all the way, all my hats are made from scratch using heavy buckram & wire construction the same way that your Great Grandmas hats were made meaning they are tough enough to last a lifetime and become a family heirloom all of your own.
The frames are then covered and lined in recycled Kimono silk which I buy locally from the lovely ladies on Shibata Main Street.
This hat measures 13cm in diameter and is secured to the head with easy to hide hat elastic.
Postage from Japan takes 7-14 days. If you need your hat sooner I can send it EMS which is insured, tracked and takes 3-5 days. If you require EMS postage please convo me BEFORE you purchase the hat so postage costs can be amended. EMS costs US$20 to all destinations.
Orders that are shipped to countries outside Japan may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; Aka Tombo has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond my original delivery estimates.
