Chair-Table, Colonial, Oval, dollhouse miniature in 1/12 scale, circa 1700

A piece of furniture like this could often found in taverns and the less wealthy houses during the colonial period. Homes and rooms were smaller then and furniture often had to serve more than one purpose. Usually placed against a wall, when open it would provide extra seating. There’s a drawer under the seat for storage. Perhaps the lady of the house kept her mending there to work on during the day. With the table top down, it would be the family’s dining table.

This has a walnut stain and two coats of satin varnish.

This is one inch scale size. The table measures 5 ¾” across x 3 ½” wide x 2 ½” high. When opened for chair use it’s 4 7/8” high.

Please note that the accessories shown are NOT included and are used as photo props only.

This is a collectable item. Not suitable as a plaything for children.
