Beautiful, clean, elegant, modernist lines, executed in hardwood (Maple, I think).

I love this chair, another rescue.

I've re-done the seat with new padding and top quality black upholstery leather (leather was originally purchased as leftover from a Porsche re-upholstery project).

There are some deep but somewhat obscured scratches on the underside of the right-hand side of the back brace as you look at the chair. These could /easily be filled with wax or filler and would then be unnoticeable.

The original finish was in very poor condition so I've given it the once-over and a rub with walnut stained danish oil and furniture wax. All of the original hardware is intact.

This one is by the Northwest Chair Company, formerly of Tacoma, WA.
I believe they went out of business in the 1950s so it's from sometime before that.

According to the label on the underside of the seat this one is number 2913, I can also make out the word "Danish. . ." followed by something else which I can't read.
