This is probably one of the most gorgeous teacups/tea cups I have seen in that it is not only an antique, this particular cup pre-dates the well known Paragon Warrant cups that are eternally popular with collectors, by about 30 years.

This is a bone china teacup/tea cup and saucer made in England depicting a gorgeous multicolor bird similar to a peacock. There are definitely signs of hand painting as there are a few blotches of paint, very faint, but there (see picture 4 just above the bird's head) in two places. These marks are under the glaze so they were part of the original manufacturing. The rim of the cup is a rich burgundy color, almost purple/red which is just gorgeous. The bird is depicted among green branches with red berries on both the cup and saucer. The registration/pattern number is also painted in the same burgundy that the rim is. This is a standard size cup and saucer.

This cup is absolutely stunning and would be a fantastic addition to any collection. It would also be fantastic as part of a dais, centerpiece, display for any occasion. The uniqueness of this Star Paragon Cup is unmatched and in fantastic shape for being over 100 years old. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing that I notice.
