Tooterphants are friendly little creatures, similar in shape to elephants but with wide trunks that they like to make tooting noises with. They are also quite acrobatic, and enjoy climbing on top of each other.

This pattern of my own design gives you all the information you need to make a Big or a Small Tooterphant, in any colour you like. You can use bright self-striping yarns, as I have, make your own stripes, or choose a single colour, bright or natural.

The pattern is quite straightforward and suitable for beginner/intermediate crocheters. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi, with lots of photos to help you. They are written in English using US crochet terms, and the list of abbreviations includes the UK alternatives. The pattern is a downloadable PDF file and you will need Adobe Reader to open it. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you are making it.

You will need:

Big Tooterphant:
80g double knitting (dk) weight yarn (US: light worsted)*.
