Exquisite antique lace from the 18th century, most likely Chantilly due to the typical 'out-lined' style of the motifs against the fine net background. Cobweb delicate and soft to the touch, Chantilly lace was made from silk in France from the 17th century onward, though most surviving examples are 18th century.

Excellent vintage condition, some wear near to each end but overall in remarkable condition given it's age. Tape measure is in inches and not included with the listing. This lace is rather strong given it's age, never-the-less I would recommend using it in a project where it will not encounter too much stress. I think it would look best framed against some antique paper and hung on the wall- a glorious gift for a collector!
