Looking for that unique conversation piece for your next party or housewarming gift? You've found it!

These lovely one of a kind up-cycled wine bottle serving trays offer a beautiful alternative to the traditional cheese board. Most of the people who have seen these are amazed how the things they usually would put in their trash or recycle bins can be re-purposed into something so fun and functional. What a great conversation starter at your next party or gift giving opportunity!

I collect the empty bottles from friends and family, and contribute to the cause myself as well (smile). I remove the labels and clean them, then I fire up my kiln to 1450 degrees. Depending on the shape, some are fired a second time on top of one of my handmade ceramic molds. Each one comes out a little different. Once the bottle has flattened, I follow a strict annealing schedule to bring the glass back down to room temperature to make sure the glass is nice and strong. I then embellish them with wire and one of my handmade dichroic glass cabochons to give it a little extra bling and personality. Dichoic glass is typically reserved for gorgeous art glass jewelry, but why not WOW your guests and invite it to your next gathering to add a little sparkle to your table? On my latest serving trays I have now found a way to reinsert the cork back into the top of the bottle for an added touch of authenticity. Very cool!

This cheese tray comes with a stylish hand-forged stainless steel spreader. These great little trays can also be hung on your kitchen wall, when not in use, by the wire loop I have crafted on the back of the piece.

This cheese tray was made from a standard size dark amber wine bottle and has been embellished with copper wire and dichroic fused glass attached with industrial strength adhesive. The bottle measures 11.75" (29.9 cm) long, not counting the length of the cork, by 5" (12.6 cm) wide).

To ensure a long life of your glassware, I recommend hand-washing. If you are going to be using it as a spoon rest, please do not place it too close to, or on top of a hot burner. The uneven heating of the glass can cause the piece to crack. I also do not recommend placing this item in the microwave for the same uneven heating reason.

If you are interested in ordering more than one bottle, the combined shipping price will adjust once you place the additional items in your shopping cart. The item with the highest shipping price, due to weight and size, is still charged the regular, non-discounted price, but any additional items are charged the lower discounted shipping.

Thanks for looking! :o)
