This is a big, bad, heavy duty piece of chick armor. I bought it when I was a teenager at the local vintage shop and I always felt impressive just putting it on. It seemed so old to me at the time, like some kind of relic from another time. But I really think it's probably from the 1970s, late 60s at the oldest. They were good at making jewelry then that evoked vaguely Victorian, Edwardian, Renaissance sensibilities... you know, it looked "old."

The bracelet is exceptionally well made. I'm not sure what kind of silvertone metal it is made from, but it's really heavy, and in a great twisty, ropey design. The metal is accented with black (some type of a patina, I guess) for added depth, on the front only. There is a round plastic cabochon glued into the center of each piece, each in a different marbled color: purple, pale blue, burgundy and green. The bracelet measures 6 1/4" long, not counting the hardware, 6 1/2" long including it. It is 1 3/8" wide.

Condition is mostly very good to excellent with some minor things to mention. There is light surface wear to the plastic, and a larger scuff on the purple cab which is largely forgivable given the scale of the piece. If you look really closely, you'll see some yellowing at the bottom edge of the blue cab. This is either glue that has discolored, or possibly rust. Also if you look very closely at the bottom edges of the cabs, you will see a few teeny cracks that probably have been there for decades, possibly from when the piece when made. This is OCD stuff, folks, no one will ever see it. The condition of the metal components is fantastic and the foldover clasp functions just fine.
