Victorian Poetry Art Print: "Bright Star" (John Keats). 8.5" x 11" print; 19th century illustration and poem with a modern twist.

A gentleman and a lady hold a dreamy twilight tryst in this lovely Victorian illustration of 1846 by Daniel Maclise and F.P. Becker. The original black-and-white engraving is in the public domain; I've remixed it by hand-painting it digitally.

To complement the enchanting imagery, I've also incorporated John Keats' beautiful 1820 poem Bright Star: "Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art— / Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night / And watching, with eternal lids apart, / Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite, / The moving waters at their priestlike task / Of pure ablution round earth's human shores, / Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask / Of snow upon the mountains and the moors / No—yet still stedfast, still unchangeable, / Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast, / To feel for ever its soft fall and swell, / Awake for ever in a sweet unrest, / Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath, / And so live ever—or else swoon to death."

This pretty print is perfect for the 21st-century lover of 19th-century art and poetry; it would look wonderful on the wall of a neo-Victorian parlor, boudoir, or study.

★ This listing is for a high quality 8.5" x 11" full bleed (borderless) inkjet print of the above image, printed with Canon inks on heavy matte paper. Your print will ship in a plastic sleeve inside a cardboard mailer and will arrive ready to frame.

Please let me know beforehand if you are interested in purchasing more than half a dozen prints; I can create a special bulk listing for you with the appropriate combined shipping cost.

Do note that the colour balance of a print may be slightly different than that of the image on your computer due to the wide variety of screen settings. I print each one myself and make certain it meets my standards.
