This is an antique brush for a sailboat.

It is from the 1930s. I purchased it from an estate along with an 1862 Brinton Compass. The mother vessel this winch handle came from is unknown.

All brass handle, shaft, case with a brush made of horse hair. By pulling on the handle the brush disappears into the brass case.

Length is 11.5 inches, diameter is 3 inches. Weight: 6.9 oz.

Excellent display piece, polished or left as is. This is the first one I have ever come across that was ALL BRASS. All horse hairs in wooden housing are in place and very functioning.

It would be great for decorating a nautical room, collection or use. This item is 100% functioning.
