This is probably my most favorite piece.

It is a flip flop found at the shore of a south Florida beach, exactly as you see it -- complete with barnacles. It has not been painted. The blue and green, which I think looks like the planet Earth, is exactly the way it looked when it floated up from sea and was rescued from the Atlantic Garbage Patch. Because of the barnacles it was allowed to air out for months.

It was used as an ornament on the Museum of Litter's 2009 Christmas Tree, which you can see a video of at: http://www.museumoflitter.org/2009/12/our-litter-trimmed-christmas-tree.html

I knew I couldn't wait to make art out of it. Flip flop is mounted to acid free mat board embellished with sand. The barnacles are fragile. Some have fallen off the flip flop with handling. They they are included and move freely with the loose sand in this shadow box. All mat is acid free. Professionally framed in natural color, with dust cover, Certificate of Authenticity stating when and where litter was found and by whom. It's ready to hang, complete with recycled Museum glass and picture wire -- Thanks for looking and caring about our environment..

Sales fund awareness, education and events.
Art is 8 x 10 excluding frame.
