This listing is for a DEPOSIT towards any CUSTOM ORDER of plantable handmade paper tags. The items in the photos are examples of past work I have made. They are not available for sale. If you would like a custom order, please send me a convo with your questions and desires and I will respond with an exact quote for work and the deadline for your order to be completed.

Tags can be made in a rainbow assortment of colors and I can even come close to matching a specific color. Please take a look at the photos for examples of tags that I have made for other customers. Tags are available in the following sizes:

2.25 x 2.75 inches are 35 cents each
4.25 x 2.75 inches are 70 cents each
4.25 x 5.5 inches are $1.40 each

Tags can have a hole and a piece of string added for no extra charge up to 50 pieces. Over 50 pieces, I charge an additional $5 per 50 count to have a hole and string added. The price covers up to two colors per order. Each additional color is $25 per color.

Each order comes with the following playful planting instructions:

In this paper, little seeds lay asleep,
Waiting to be planted in soil 1/4 inch deep.
Water well then keep moist for 4 to 6 weeks.
Until little plants come out of the soil for a peek.
Many flowers will share their colors to the max.
Like baby blue eyes, purple cone flower and blue flax.

Plantable papers are a whimsical, eco-friendly place card for your wedding, but they also make great gift tags and product hang tags. I have made custom orders for baby showers, birthday parties, memorial services, bridal showers and other special events; I have recycled paper that had a silver coating and added glitter for a silvery paper used as hang tags on silver jewelry; I have created papers with patchouli and lemon grass in them as packaging for handmade soaps with patchouli and lemon grass in the soap; I have even made plantable paper prayer cards for a funeral that were planted in memory of the loved one. Plantable paper makes a great teacher gift, especially for a science teacher who can then sprout the paper as a science experiment! It's fun for a home-schooling project, too.

I have been making paper by hand since 1992 and am extremely proud of the caliber of my product! I buy only the freshest, highest quality non-GMO seeds — I never use hand-gathered seeds that might not pass quality control standards. Every batch of paper gets a generous scoop of seeds, ensuring the most germination possible. I use the best scraps that I can find, saturated with color. There is no ink to muddy the color or weak fibers that yield a weak paper. I don’t use any dyes or bleaches to create my paper - the color comes only from the scraps.

This paper has been made using recycled paper and more than 40 annual and perennial wildflower seeds. These seeds can be planted in conditions ranging from full sun to half shade, and in soils from sandy, clay or acidic to moist or dry. Flowers will happily bloom from the Northeast to the Southwest. Take a look at the last photo to see a sample of my paper sprouting!

You can write on this paper. One side is bumpy with seeds and the other is smoother for writing on. Check out the third photos for examples of all different types of inks used on the smooth side of my plantable paper tags.

---------------------------------> Here's all "the dirt" on my plantable papers:

STORING YOUR PAPER: You can store our plantable paper in any cool (not freezing) dry place that is not subject to extreme temperature variations. Some products come packaged in an acid-free plastic envelope. If you will not be using your plantable paper for a while, please open the plastic packaging so the seeds can breathe. For best germination, you should plant your paper within 12-18 months of purchase.

PLANTING YOUR PAPER: To force your plantable paper indoors, simply moisten the paper until damp but not wet, put in a plastic jar and cover with plastic wrap. Place in a warm, sunny window and you will see little seedlings in about 2 weeks! If planting outdoors, wait until all danger of frost has passed, then rake the soil, scatter the paper onto the soil, cover with 1/4 inch of topsoil, water and keep moist until germination, approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

Frequently asked questions about PulpArt

I ship every day, Monday through Friday, via USPS First Class mail. I wait until the afternoon to take orders to the post office to capture as many orders as I can. (But I will go early in the day if my customer has a time issue like an Express Mail drop-off.) So it may take as long as 24 hours for your package to be shipped but it is often much less. And if you want to know a little secret, I live within walking distance from a post office so sometimes, and especially on nice days or if I have an errand to run, I will make a second trip to mail something if I get a sale late in the day. I often ship on Saturdays, even though I officially say that I ship Monday through Friday.
I do not wholesale my plantable products but I do wholesale my Petal People pressed flower art cards. Please inquire for more information.
Because of customs regulations for shipping live seeds to other countries, I do not offer international shipping on my plantable products but do ship my Petal People cards internationally.
Because I get so many donation requests, I have had to limit those charities to whom I donate. I now only donate locally, and to companies and charities with whom my family is directly involved.
Yes! However, I am very selective who I give my products to, and I don't give them very often. I will need proof of a certain amount of consistent readership, as well as evidence of cross-promotion on social media, and a well-established presence in either the crafting world, wedding market or another audience that hits my target customer base.
When I package up an order, I print a shipping label in my studio. Once the label is printed, an email is automatically sent with tracking info, but your package has not been shipped yet. When I drop off the package at the post office, it is scanned with the postal gun. The postal folks don't transfer that information from the gun to their computer system until after 5 pm when they upload the scans into their computer. It can still take a few more hours for tracking info to appear on the website. If you have been sent an email with tracking but it isn't showing up, just check back a few hours later or the next day.
