Antique silk used for kimono repair in late Taisho, early Showa era Japan, (late 1800 - 1900).

In this era, many would have owned only one kimono which they would have professionally cleaned and repaired only once a year. Kimono would be carefully taken apart and each piece individually washed. This silk is a typical repair fabric, used to patch up damaged areas of a garment after washing.

This listing is for one meter: 100cm x 37cm

I have one more full piece (150cm) and some scraps in addition to this. Let me know if you would like more.
