{history of pascalls in australia:
After Cadbury in England merged with J.S. Fry in 1919, the new company sought to expand internationally and decided to build a factory in Australia. Australia had developed into an important market since making Cadbury’s first overseas order 1881.In 1922, Cadbury and Fry, joined by Pascall, create a new Australian company named Cadbury-Fry and Pascall. The company chose a factory site in Claremont, in Tasmania, whose location was ideal because of its close proximity to the city of Hobart, good source of inexpensive hydro-electricity and plentiful supply of high-quality fresh milk. The Claremont factory was modelled on Bournville, with its own village and sporting facilities. During the war years (1939-1945) Cadbury became the official supplier of chocolate to the Australian Armed Forces. Cadbury ration chocolate in brown-paper wrappers was supplied to troops in the field, made from a special formula so that the precious parcel did not melt in the heat of the tropics or the desert.}
