This 1923 locomotive is often referred to as the "Mikado" type because of its wheel configuration (2-8-2). It's the short way of saying " 2 leading wheels, 8 drive wheels and 2 trailing wheels". The locomotive was built by ALCO (American Locomotive Company) in Scenectady, NY. It was built for Mo-Pac ( Missouri Pacific Lines ) . This train is built of walnut and oak. Each of the 8 drive wheels consist of twelve individually spokes between the hub and the rim adding to the details of this beautiful train.
