Thimbles were given as love tokens in Victorian times when gifts of any type were discouraged between men and women. Peter Pan and Wendy exchanged thimbles and acorn buttons as kisses. In American Colonial times when items of jewelry were prohibited for moral reasons a thimble was the gift from a fiance to his future bride as a symbol of love and pledge of eternal togetherness. When she married the women removed the bottom of the thimble to form more of a wedding ring. With such a long history thimbles as a tender gesture of affection I have created a series of one of a kind thimble necklaces.

This is truly a One of a Kind Design! The thimble is a vintage metal Monopoly token that has been hand painted with a fairy. It is hung on a charm ring along with a tiny locket, a key charm and two sparkling Chez fire polish beads. The brass chain closes with a lobster clasp accented with a leaf shaped glass bead. A fun gift of kisses for you or the one you love.
