This is one of the most coveted and rare fortune telling tea cup and saucer sets sought after by collectors. This teacup and saucer was created in 1929 by Genevieve Wimsatt, a well known and published author of Asian culture. She submitted her "fortune telling device" to the US patent Office in 1929 and was not mass produced. A copy of the patent and how to use this cup is included in this listing. The cup has over 60 symbols and the instructions define each symbol, why it is present and how to "read" it.

The cup and saucer themselves are badly crazed, but it is rare to find this particular cup in MINT condition as it was not mass produced. Some people like the crackled (under the glaze) look, and it does actually create an eerie, Halloween feel to this cup. Some of the symbols in this cup are an Owl, Dragonfly, and Snake (I have amazing close ups of these)! I love it and feel privileged to have found one of these to be able to offer it to you.

If you are a collector, this is absolute must to have as part of your collection. If you are curious about how to perform a "tea leaf reading" from a tea cup, the instructions included in this particular listing is a great base for all of these types of cups. This is a standard size teacup and saucer set.

I have several more pictures and am happy to forward them to you, just drop me a note requesting this or to ask any other questions you might have.
