This bursting-with-color, small replica of an ancient earthenware amphora has an opalescent, crackle glazed finish on the outside. The inside has been left porous to absorb and diffuse your favorite essential oil or blend throughout the day. The white clay amphora is 1.5" in length. It adorns a strand of super-soft, peach, silk ribbon that has been hand dyed and sewn to a point. It is about 16 inches long and can be tied to your desired length with a simple knot. 8 gorgeous lampwork glass beads, 4 zen crystal beads, 1 Swarovski dangle charm, 1 sterling silver heart charm, and 16 silver-plated or sterling silver spacer beads finish this piece of beautiful aromatherapy jewelry. This Aromatherapy Necklace comes in a gauze pouch with a mini-pipette to easily add essential oils to the bottle.

How to add essential oils to your Ceramic Aromatherapy Amphora Necklace:

Think about your favorite essential oils... your signature scent or synergy of oils. Make sure you use only pure essential oils, not oils in a carrier. Take the dropper that comes with your purchase and fill it with a few drops of essential oils. You may want to choose clear, thin oils. Thick, brown or blue oils may discolor the white clay. I use a chamomile which is very dark blue. (It doesn't discolor the clay very much actually, and does fade with time.) Drop the essential oils inside the amphora and around the lip of the vessel. You don't want to fill the vessel, just "season" the clay. Pouring dark colored oils inside the amphora is okay. Let the necklace absorb your chosen essences. You may want to layer essential oils on the amphora. The scent can last for weeks or days. It depends on the evaporation rate of your oils and the environment. It doesn't take much to re-activate your aromatherapy necklace. It is up to you if you want to change the essential oils that you use in your vessel. They will just layer upon the older scents, creating a new synergy. If you want to clean the amphora of all scents, you might want to try letting it sit in the sun for a few days. (I have not tried this.) I would cover the beautiful silk ribbon so it doesn't fade, though.

About this style of Aromatherapy Jewelry:

I have chosen only the finest handmade, lampwork glass beads from fellow artisans. The silk cord and ribbon is the best I could find and the washes of color are vibrant and unique. All of these necklaces are one-of-a-kind.
