Victorian Mint Blue Velvet Sewing Box, Antique Sewing Tools, Mirror , Tufted Silk

Extraordinary and rare antique vanity / jewelry / sewing / music box from the victorian / napoleon III era.
Circa 1850-1900

Made of wood covered by mint blue velvet with silver shades and silver-like brass embellishments on the lid and on the lock.

This incredible box has 2 levels.
One is for the sewing tools with a beautiful large mirror and the other is lined with tufted silk.

The first level shows a compartment with antique sewing tools and a mirror.
The mirror is in a good condition and is not broken or cracked but has smudges (see pictures).
The antique tools are beautiful with a thimble, scissor, needles and bone tools.

The second level is filled with tufted silk in a gorgeous gold beige with khaki shades in very good conditions, no rips or dots.

The outer velvet is in an good antique state but shows missing of the fabric at some places.

The box shows a hole at the bottom and a label with the name of the tune the music box was playing.
The music device unfortunately is missing and thus there is a space at the bottom of the box under the tufted silk.

The tufted silk cushions are no longer completely attached to the construction of the box and moves a little.

This box has 4 brass feet and is not wobbly.

This box unfortunately misses her handle on the top lid and her original antique key.

The lock does not seem to be working.
The key you can see on the pictures is for display purpose only.
