This face mask features two layers of cotton. The outer is printed, and the lining is solid white, so that it is easy to know which side has been towards your face. It can (and should!) be washed between uses. While homemade masks are not very effective at keeping airborne infections out, they could potentially be useful for slowing the spread of contagious infections. For this reason, the CDC recommends the use of cloth masks when in public, and many state and local governments are requiring cloth masks when in public.

With COVID-19 being contagious before you show symptoms, a mask like this could help you reduce your chance of being a "silent spreader" while out in public for essential activities. Masks such as these can help to contain the droplets that contain viruses, which are expelled when you speak, cough, or sneeze. Additionally, these types of masks are often useful if you suffer from seasonal allergies - they can reduce the amount of pollen you are breathing in, and can help reduce the death stares from others who worry your sneezing or coughing may be caused by something contagious!

The elastic loops on this mask are adjustable. If the loops do not hold the mask snugly against your face, simply untie the knot, and re-tie the knot so that the loops are smaller. Once you have adjusted it to your liking, pull the knots tight and slide the loops so that the knots are concealed in the elastic casings on the side of the mask.

It is recommended that you wash before wearing.
It is also advisable to wash frequently - even if you do not have COVID, bacteria could gather on the lining.
Do not bleach - colorsafe bleach is acceptable
Hand wash or machine wash inside a lingerie/mesh bag (item contains a small flexible wire in the nose area)
