John Singer Sargent was U.S. painter, known for bold brushwork. In World War I, he worked as an official war artist. He is best know for his scandalous "Portrait of Madame X".
I used the spelling of his name, not the "military sergeant".
Perhaps you know an artist at the grill? Or someone with the last name of Sargent, also?

Thank you for looking.
