Featured in Laura's beautiful and festive Treasury!

NEW! The Cold-Shoulder Capelets pattern includes instructions for 3 versions. Version 1, pictured here in Fiesta d'Espagna, features 2 "cold shoulders" and 2 bands that meet at center back and close in front with 1 large button. Version 2 (shown in Summer Haze) has a single "cold shoulder" and a wraparound "scarf" with optional decorative buttons. Version 3 has a small strap on 1 shoulder. Version 1 is knitted flat; Versions 2 and 3 are knitted in the round. All 3 have ribbed bodies and Mistake-Stitch ribbing for the contrast bands.

You need to know how to: Cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, knit in the round (V. 2 & 3 only), bind off, sew a seam, add button(s), make button loop (V. 1 only).

Materials: All 3 versions call for 1 Scraplet Skein* (120 yds.). Coordinating yarn is used for each version; Version 1 needs about 200 yds. of heavy worsted-weight yarn (sample uses 2 balls of Classic Elite's "Waterlily"), Version 2 uses about 100 yds. of a bulky hand-spun mohair blend, and Version 3 calls for about 60-70 yds. of bulky yarn for the strap. Decorative buttons are optional for Versions 2 and 3, and Version 1 uses 1 large button at the front.

Needles: Version 1: U.S. 13 (24" circular recommended) and 9. Versions 2 and 3: U.S. 13 24" circular needle and U.S. 11 needle (or appropriate needle for your contrast yarn).

PLEASE NOTE: You are purchasing this pattern in PDF format, which requires Adobe Reader or another PDF reader. The digital file will be available to you when your payment is received.

ALSO NOTE that this PDF file is approximately 7.9 MB in size; in order to get it down to this size (from 15 MB), I had to reduce the resolution of the photos, so if you print the pattern, be aware that the print quality of the photos will not be wonderful.
