When I first saw this cruet I couldn't believe my eyes. It is unbelievably beautiful. Every little hobnail is perfect, no chips or scratches. When the light hits it is nothing less than sheer magnificance. With the stopper the cruet is 5 inches tall. The only mars are on the stopper, the bottom has been chipped but that is unseen when the stopper is in place. This is a wonderful addition to anyone's Moonstone Hobnail Glass collection.

Anchor Hocking manufactured the distinctive Moonstone pattern from 1941 through 1946. This pattern is easily identified by the clear hobnails and the milky, or opalescent, edge. It was produced in the first five years of the newly consolidated Anchor Hocking Company, which had begun to manufacture glass for the home in 1937. The opacity, or milkiness, comes from adding ash or tin oxide during the firing process.
