Vintage Crochet, Greek Wedding Present Doilies from 1954 estate collection. I was privilaged to meet the Lady Liquidating her estate! She had a whole story about the Doilies that she calls handmats. On the day of her wedding in Greece, in 1954, her female relatives all make handmade crochet and tatted mats, tablecloths, etc. for her! I have three that I will list separately...They are really gorgeous and so detailed. They seem a little heavier , and the yarn/thread is a neutral, almost raw look. They are all a light beige color. The runner I am showing in this listing is in excellent condition. There are no tears, stains that I can see . There are 2 places where they have ended a row where you can see it, but all you have to do to make sure it never loosens, is to put a dab of super glue there. This is what I do with my doilies...It is in an elongated Diamond shape that measures 33 1/2" long and 18 1/2" wide . The pattern can be seen in the photos..Thank you for taking the time to stop by my shop, and please ENJOY!!
