This lovely antique opal ring is crafted in 1.7 grams of 10K yellow gold. It has a bit of a rose gold hue to it, with antique styling reminiscent of Victorian period pieces with tiger claw prongs, split prongs between the stones. The ring is in fair yet wearable antique condition; the prongs are very small yet the stones are securely set. The opals are oval shaped and very lively, with multiples colors throughout and nice flash fire. There is a small abrasion on the end of one stone under the prong but it's not noticeable with the naked eye and was very hard for us to find under a 10x magnification loupe. The center stone measures approximately 5 x 3 mm and the stones taper down in size on each side. The face of the piece measures 5.6 x 15.8 mm and elevation is 3.66 mm. The band is 2.3 mm at its widest point and 2.3 mm at its narrowest (the back of the shank). Besides a 10K stamp, there are two additional stamps on the inside of the shank though we are not sure what they refer to and are difficult to read. If you're rough on your jewelery we would not recommend this ring for daily wear as the ring shows its history and opals are quite sensitive. As is, it's a lovely and wearable collectible piece. The ring is fitted for a size 5.5 finger and is NOT sizable.
