Simple knitting with dramatic patterning makes this a coat of real importance. Strong contrasting colours make this particularly striking worn over a dark dress!

What I want to know is how the women of the 40's managed to actually read the original of this pattern - squished on one tiny page the instructions melt into one another - what it was like to knit during those war years with the gas light !!

I have revised this pattern into a larger print - yippee - spaced out the rows to make the reading easier and made a knit friendly version of this original jacket pattern.

Now out of copyright from an old magazine of the 2nd War years, however this version is now copyright to me.
I have no objection to you making this garment for re-sale but not the original pattern. I tell you this took hours! AND - a long time to proof read, to check the instructions against the original tiny version!!

I love this jacket - Black Tulip from the war years - sounds like 'ello ello...
