A very sweet antique brush and comb set, made in the art deco years of the 1920s or 30s, probably in England or France.

The two-piece set is made in miniature, being about one third in scale (I am not sure if these were made to be child or doll-sized).

The brush, which could be used either for hair or as a clothes brush, is made of tufted bristle on a wood base, edged in copper, with a white enamel border framing deep yellowy orange guilloche enamel. The tiny comb is probably made from bone or ivory, and is also bound in copper on the top edge and trimmed on both sides with a white enamel border above the band of yellow-orange guilloche enamel.

The guilloche pattern is made up of parallel rows of wavy and straight lines machine cut into the copper surface and enamelled; the pieces are unmarked.

The brush is in good order, with just one small tuft of bristles missing and some minor cracking of the white border, but no other damage. The comb has some damage to the guilloche enamelling on both sides, but the comb itself is intact with no teeth missing

The brush measures 7 cm/2.75" long, and the comb is 8.5 cm/3.5 long. The pair together weighs 52 gms/1.8 oz and estimated packaged weight will be 350 gms.
