Nautical Monkey Fist Card Holder

Alrighty then. These were made for the nautical weddings. You know go to the sea, find your love, tie the knot while surrounded by other knots. I thought, great! I have a wonderful little accent for the wedding table tops, and I thought we were done. I've sold tons of them and helped out numerous brides and their grooms using both these and other knotwork as favors. But then my father in law stops by.

I love my father in law. He's a great man, a retired accountant. He saw one of these balls and said, "what a great paperweight, I bet you sell a lot of these. I don't own a boat, but I love the ocean. Mind if I put one on my desk at home to keep the breeze from uncollating my papers."

Of course, how could I say no to such a pillar of our family.

They live in a beautiful handmade home in the country. More than 50 miles from the nearest ocean, but the knot fits right in there. I never thought a knot like this would match the rustic setting of their home, but then I remember that knots were on everything from wagon trains to kites. Knots are everywhere, why should the sailors get the cool stuff, when everyone can enjoy it.

Some of my wholesale customers even use them to hold the little signs that adorn their shops. Who knew the knot that used to be the weighted end of a heaving line would become such a cool little accessory around the home.

--here is the description my wife originally had. For the guys, the description above works.---

Table number card holders for nautical weddings or events. The balls are about 4 inches across out of 1/2 inch bright white cotton hard laid rope. As always at Mystic Knotwork, we strive for the best possible materials to provide the perfect results. The rope we have made is very 'hard in hand' and the knot is self supporting even without a core. When looking for a truly nautical knot, its all about the finish. This is not the flimsy knock offs you find elsewhere, and of course all of our cotton is American grown and spun, bleached white, and twisted to our specifications. Not only will you support the American cotton industry, you can be certain of prompt and predictable shipping times.

These monkey fists are hollow inside to make them able to sit on a table better. Just place on the table and press down to flatten slightly so they don't roll. Whether you use a card as shown or a pennon on a stick, they will fit perfectly in these table top decorations.

We can provide them in bulk for large events. Just ask! You can also combine these with our other knot work as favors to help fully realize your nautical dreams.

Our knots have been featured recently in Style Me Pretty
