The Spencer Opal mine is in a very small town in rural Idaho by the same name. It is formed in very fine layers so is almost always set in a triplet. This triplet is made from black jade, then the opal layer, and a quartz cap. These pieces are really well made and are from an estate of a lapidary who made them over 50 years ago.

No matter which way you turn the opal, the colors just dance. It reminds me of a hologram. O_O I can see this opal set as a statement ring, a delicate pendant... Or even a single earring for someone with a daring personnality... The possibilities are endless!

Dimensions: 31 X 16 mm
Colors: bright flashes of red, green and cobalt blue

Note: my pictures were in no way doing justice to the cab, even if I tried different lighting conditions. Don't get me wrong, the flashes are very easy to obtain in person and absolutely amazing, but I couldn't get them to show in the pictures. This is why I used the excellent pictures taken by the person who sold me the stone. The last picture is by me, to show you the size.
