I made this 75" square clamshell patterned quilt about 3 years ago...folded it up and forgot about it! (I am a bit brain dead - I have 10 kids...get my drift??!!)

This lovely quilt is quite substantial..I appliqued every piece - clamshell AND background cream muslin fabric into place onto a stabilizer of muslin, piece by piece and row by row. Lots of hours!!
(Since this photo was taken I trimmed the binding with a cream cording and a cream rick rack around the border to add a bit more dash!)

I've let the fabrics - dozens upon dozens of 30's images - do the talking.
The border is a delightful stripe to balance out all of the little patterned fabrics
This quilt looks old, like it came out of grandmas' cupboard.....just how I envisioned it would!!!
The backing is a patterned print, complimenting the front.

I machine quilt every inch to two inches on my quilts which involves a tremendous amount of stops and starts and thread changes. I quilt on my home sewing machine (which can LITERALLY be a pain in the neck (and arms-and back!) with some of my larger quilts!!) using chalked stencil markings or free motion quilting which I make up along the way. This takes a super amount of time which I have to make up for in my pricing, but I think well worth the extremely personal touch.

I, and only I , have touched my quilts and worked it at every step of the process..from dreaming at 2 a.m. of your new quilt - from fabric shop -to planning -to cutting - to stitching - to finishing - to packaging - to you!!!!

I used Warm and White 100% cotton batting - the fabric is 100% cotton also.
Gentle cold machine wash, no bleach, gentle warm dry or lay flat to dry.
Your quilt will get softer and softer with use and lots of love! Sometimes I prewash my quilts, sometimes I don't....this one hasn't been washed. I use Shout Color Catcher on the first wash and they wash up beautifully and pucker and soften and really looked loved.

My sewing studio is away from the rest of the home - we do have a beautiful cat but he never comes near my quilts - though he would love to!! We have a complete smoke-free environment however.
I can ship internationally but because the cost will be very high, I will find out what exactly the shipping would be and then let you know. Price below is guesstimate.

If desired I can personalize a label with custom embroidery for the recipient from info supplied by the buyer which can be attached to the bottom right hand corner of the back of the quilt for an additional $20.00.

Most of my quilts are not prewashed so you can expect shrinkage of both cotton and cotton batting up to 3% with the first washing. Washing should be done on a gentle delicate slow cycle, cold washing, no bleach, mild detergent, lay flat to dry and tumble every 15 minutes to fluff. Handwashing is highly recommended for optimal care of a quilt.
My quilts are usually not a standardized bed size. The fabric 'speaks' to me telling me just how small or large it wants the quilt to turn out! :)
Many of my quilts are a large throw size although I have made both larger and smaller as well as table topper size. All sizes are listed to the inch in the item description. Because my quilts are bound and finished, I am unable to make them larger, as has been requested many times.
